Comparison With Enzymatic Estimates

چکیده
We prospectively investigated whether 20'TI single-photon emission computed tomography (SPECT) could accurately diagnose the presence and quantify the extent of acute myocardial infarction when compared with infarct size assessed by plasma MB-creatine kinase activity. Thirty patients with enzymatic evidence of infarction were imaged within 12-36 hours of chest pain (mean, 23.4 hours). No patient had a previous infarction, and none underwent intervention seeking to restore coronary patency. Infarct size was quantified with computer-generated polar maps of the myocardial radioactivity and expressed as a percentage of the total left ventricular volume. To assess left and right ventricular performance, blood-pool gated radionuclide angiography was performed immediately after SPECT. All 30 patients had perfusion defects consistent with myocardial infarction. Scintigraphic and enzymatic estimates of infarct size correlated well for the group as a whole (r= 0.78, p<O.001, SEE = 9.1) but especially for those patients with anterior infarction (r= 0.91, p<0.001, SEE = 7.9). The poor correlation observed in patients with inferior infarction (r= 0.50, p<0.05, SEE = 10.0) was believed to be related to the frequent occurrence of right ventricular involvement because SPECT assessed only left ventricular damage, whereas the enzymatic method estimated the myocardial injury in both ventricles. A quantitative index of right ventricular infarct size, derived from the relation between the scintigraphic and enzymatic estimates, had a strong inverse correlation with right ventricular ejection fraction (r= 0.89, p<0.001, SEE = 3.6). Therefore, `'TI SPECT is highly sensitive for detecting the myocardial perfusion deficit during acute infarction in humans and

Comparison of Estimates Using Record Statistics from Lomax Model: Bayesian and Non Bayesian Approaches
This paper address the problem of Bayesian estimation of the parameters, reliability and hazard function in the context of record statistics values from the two-parameter Lomax distribution. The ML and the Bayes estimates based on records are derived for the two unknown parameters and the survival time parameters, reliability and hazard functions. The Bayes estimates are obtained based on conju...
متن کاملApplication of Face-Centered Central Composite Design (FCCCD) in Optimization of Enzymatic Decolorization of Two Azo Dyes: A Modeling vs. Empirical Comparison
Biological treatment, especially enzymatic methods, can be employed for effective and environmental- friendly treatment of dye effluents. Laccase, belonging to the blue multi-copper oxidases category, can oxidize a wide variety of substrates, especially synthetic dyes. In this study, laccase was used to biodegrade two azo dyes, i.e., Direct Red 23 and Acid Blue 92. Before conducting the exp...
متن کاملComparison of enzymatic and anatomic estimates of myocardial infarct size in man.
Enzymatic estimates of myocardial infarct size based on plasma levels of MB creatine kinase (MB-CK) were compared with anatomic infarct size in 49 human hearts obtained at autopsy. The patients studied had been enrolled in the Multicenter Investigation of Limitation of Infarct Size (MILIS) study program within 18 hr of the onset of acute infarction and were treated at one of five participating ...

Abstract Background and Objectives: Concentration low-density lipoprotein (LDL) is one of the strongest indicators of atherosclerosis and predicts the diagnosis of cardiovascular diseases. LDL measurement accuracy is very important. LDL can be measured directly, such as enzymatic and nephelometry methods or can be calculated using Friedewald...
